We are delighted to announce that Anne Ward recieved the "Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice" medal for her considerable contribution to the diocese and pilgrimage.  

Anne has been the heart of the music of Lourdes, a prolific composer and exceptional music director her music sets the tone and joy of the Masses in Lourdes and within the Diocese. 

After many years of dedicated service in Lourdes, Anne Ward has decided to retire this year as Musical Director of the pilgrimage. Deacon Mike Thoms, our Pilgrimage Director, and Bishop Richard expressed their warm thanks for Anne's dedication to serving the pilgrimage over the past three decades. Whilst in Lourdes, Anne was awarded the great honour of a Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal by Pope Francis, in recognition of her wonderful contribution to the pilgrimage and the Diocese as a whole. Bishop Richard presented Anne with the medal at our Opening Mass.
